Finally The Right Time Came

New Girl, S02E15

Schmidt, Nick, and Winston went out to hook up with some girls, leaving Jess behind in the apartment alone.  Schmidt and Nick fought over a girl, while Winston met a girl willing to help him talk better with women.  Everyone ended back at the loft after Jess freaked out from a strange noise at the door and played their favorite game.

Nick's obsession with his stolen women's coat was so cute.  Only he could have a confidence boost from that and refuse to take it off even if it got him kicked out of the club.  I was dying for someone to make an Inspector Gadget reference and Winston obliged me later on when they were playing the game.  That really added to Nick looking ridiculous.

I was sort of mad that Schmidt, who usually doesn't have too many problems getting girls, was getting in the way of Nick and Holly.  Finally Nick had found a woman who was turned on by the sadness that surrounds his life rather than repulsed by it.  She was definitely an odd woman, but you don't look a gift horse in the mouth.  It sucked that Nick had not just Schmidt getting in his way, but also Jess, who was being her typical "cooler" self.

Jess in this episode was really adorable.  This was mostly when she was left alone in the apartment, playing with her mountain of clothes.  I was so surprised that she acting like a little kid with nothing else better to do than run fake marathons and dress up like a robot.   That Nick doll she made from a melon and hoodie with a beer can in her head was borderline creepy, but also made her look like she just couldn't stand a night without her favorite guy.  I loved it--she is such a dork.  I actually liked it better when she was spending time by herself rather than when everyone came home to play True American.

Of course, the best thing about them playing the game was when Nick and Jess were stuck behind the "Iron Curtain" and made to kiss.  It was funny how hard it was for them to do it even the slightest bit naturally.  The weirdest attempt was when Nick was smiling like the Joker and Jess told him he couldn't kiss with his teeth.  It was disappointing that they failed to seal the deal despite that Jess admitted that Nick could be hot (if he groomed himself) and they had a little moment together.   Sam came along and ruined the magic they had started to have, and they eneded up being awkward with each other again.

However, all that drama paid off when Nick admitted that he did want to kiss Jess, just not in such an artificial setting.  I got excited hearing that.  Then, unfortunately, Nick started talking incoherently and fled to the window ledge instead of elaborating on what he meant.  I was getting pretty fed up then because they had almost had all night to have their first kiss together, and it just wasn't happening.  Finally, at the end Nick unexpectedly grabbed Jess and the two of them had such a passionate kiss!  There was no way you could say that Nick was doing it all because Jess was 100% kissing him back.  Wow!  It was so amazing to see!  And perfect that it came right when you thought that them advertising Nick and Jess kissing was just a ploy to get you to watch.  We are back on track with Nick and Jess--yes!

This was a great episode mainly because we got to see "Trench Coat Nick" and the first kiss between Nick and Jess.  It took almost to the very end of the episode before were we rewarded from watching Nick and Jess fumble around to lock lips, but finally the right time came along.  I doubt that Jess will so quickly start rethinking her feelings about Sam, but she can't possibly be able to forget how electric her kiss with Nick was. She was blown away and she can't erase that.  Nick better not try and pretend it didn't happen either.  I want to see them next time expressing at least their feedback of those magical few seconds.

Can't Brendon Be Done?

The Mindy Project, S01E12

Mindy decided to take Jeremy's advice and tried having casual sex instead of dating.  She chose Brendon since she was attracted to him, but didn't respect him.  Danny had a first date with the girl with the eye patch, but her wild ideas for the night scared him off to fake a work emergency before the date started.

 There were so many things wrong about Mindy trying to hook up with Brendon.  I mean, this was an idea essentially from Jeremy, who might be the king of casual sex, but not the best general idea guy around.  What works for him definitely isn't for Mindy.  She's too much of a romantic for that to be her cup of tea.  I might have changed my mind if she hadn't picked Brendon of all people.  Ugh.  He's not super good-looking in my opinion, and his personality is so irritating.  There's something so cocky and controlling about him that rubs me the wrong way. I wanted Mindy to have any excuse in the world to not go to his house.

It was just painful to watch Mindy's failed hookup the whole time.  I can't think of one part that was the most embarrassing to see--they were all equally terrible.  However, I did think it was sort of funny in an unlucky way when Mindy got caught in Brendon's automated shower.  She was screaming and trying to break free, while he was just strumming on his guitar without a care in the world.  I felt bad for her, but I also thought her flailing around in the water and glass walls was priceless.  I actually wish she had berated Brendon for her own mistake later, but she just played it cool.  I feel like she had suffered enough at that point and should have gone home way before Morgan and Duncan crashed the "party."  For me, Brendon is so not worth the trouble of all that.

I still wasn't feeling Brendon when he was able to get Morgan's asthma under control by relaxing him.  It was actually one of the first times I felt like what he does is a little like magic as the doctors have been calling it out of spite.  I think I just wasn't impressed by his moves because he kept making Mindy feel like an idiot and unneeded when he was doing his thing.  Yes, she was making the situation worse, but she was sort of his date that night--he didn't have to be a jerk to her.  Like that was one of my main problems--I didn't feel chemistry between them.

Finally, when Mindy threw in the towel to that horrible night of non-sex, I thought she had banned Brendon from her list of possible booty-calls.  Nope, she was still on board with the idea when Brendon declared they would hook up eventually.  What?  No!  Man, just write that up as a failure and never look back.  If only they didn't work in the same building.  I know I'm not going to love the episode where Brendon makes good on that promise.  At least, as of right now.  I'd almost rather her get drunk and sleep with Josh again.

Jillian turned out to a better match for Danny than I thought, mainly because she both exposes Danny's age in comical way and possibly makes him a little cooler.  I was excited to hear Jillian's plan for them that night and was looking forward to Danny wriggling around while he tried to hide his discomfort and lack of hipness.  Instead, Danny turned tail and ran away.  Disappointing, but not really shocking, I guess.  I'm sure that Danny would much rather take the coward's way out than look like a fool in front of a girl he liked.  He also had Mindy to think about because she was all up in Jillian's business.  He wouldn't be able to save face if he had to hide the fact that their date was a disaster.  Although, since Mindy's fling with Brendon was train wreck, she couldn't really rub it in his face.  At any rate, Jillian doesn't look like she's giving up on Danny yet.  I just wonder how old she is now that we know that Danny is 38.  He's a lot older than I thought, and yet his actions make him seem a lot older than he claimed.

I could have liked this episode more if I didn't have to see so much Brendon.  Can't say that I'm a fan of him yet.  I feel like his character is useful because he makes a good antagonist, but as a love interest for Mindy, I still think she could do better.   Maybe he'll show a side of him that really shows me there's more chemistry to them than I've seen, but I'm not counting on it.  Right now the sight of them together makes my stomach churn a little.  Danny and Jillian, on the other hand, seem pretty cute together.  It'll be interesting to see if she can get Danny to cut loose a little.  It's pretty clear that he could stand to loosen his collar once in a while.

How I Met Your Mother, S08E10

Robin became obsessed with destroying Barney and Patrice's relationship, believing it was a sham, and snuck into Barney's house to find his playbook to prove to Patrice he wasn't who she thought he was.  Lily gave her mother-in-law advice on how to date again, and Marshall was freaked out when he found his mother and his father-in-law making out.  Ted was tired of his friends borrowing things and never returning them.

I like how Barney has seemed to calm down recently.  It's like ever since he's cut off his desire for Robin, he's become such a better person.  I could never imagine him dating someone like Patrice before, but the current Barney does seem like a genuinely nice guy who could be a good match for her.  I'm really enjoying how much it bothers Robin that Barney is dating Patrice, a woman that Robin can't speak to without screaming at her (the screaming makes me laugh).  However, she was getting really desperate and not listening to reason.  I'm sort of glad that she went to the trouble of finding Barney's playbook because Barney was able to show his resolve by burning it!  Wow.  He must be really ready to turn over a new leaf (or he has another copy somewhere or something).

My favorite thing about Robin's story was the end when all her friends cornered her with an intervention.  Yay!  I love when the gang does an intervention.  It feels like it's been a while because I had even forgotten about them until now.  Robin was getting out of hand, and I was happy to see them give her a damn wake up call.  Barbin's not gonna happen right now.

I didn't really care too much about Marshall's mom.  It was a little gross to think of anyone hooking up with Lily's dad, but it could be worse, I guess.  I'm sure that they will get tired of the "family with benefits" situation and move along.

Usually, I don't pay Ted's story any attention, but my favorite thing in this episode was Ted discovering (and the audience seeing) how much stuff everyone was borrowing from Ted without his knowledge.  Robin had taken his drill, Lily had his mini cooler, Barney had his Christmas decorations and trashcan, and Lily's dad had his campaign sweatshirt (eww--and was wearing nothing else).  I thought Ted was just complaining about something that didn't exist, as he tends to do, but he was so right about everyone just taking his stuff as if he's running a free store.  Oh, and I loved when Robin found the red boots that Ted had wrongly accused Stuart of never returning.  The crazy bitch was putting Ted's pocket knife to them and texted him a picture to threaten him to help her!  Another reason that Robin needed help and Ted needed to keep a tighter rope on his things.  I just spent the episode waiting for the next thing with Ted's label on it to appear (even his label maker was at Barney's--awesome).

This is definitely one of the better episodes I've watched within the last two seasons.  I say that because I'd actually want to watch it again.  I'm pretty satisfied with Barney dating Patrice, and I hope that Robin will finally learn to let go.  Barbin can wait a little while because we all know that it's going to happen one day down the road.  It was really funny to see how all of Ted's friends take advantage of him.  It's nice to be reminded that I used to like Ted and his seemingly crazy complaints.

Nick From The Future

New Girl, S02E02

Jess embraced her freedom from employment by creating a few new identities that she used to hook up with a couple different guys.  Nick met a man who claimed to be him from the future.  Schmidt tried to get into the pants of Winston's sister while she and her mother were visiting.

This episode wasn't quite as funny as the first one, but it was still pretty good.  Schmidt and Winston's story was just as about entertaining as Jess pretending to be someone she wasn't all for the sake of what she thought were some no-strings attached hook-ups.  Those weren't horrible stories, but Nick thinking that a random man at his bar was Future Nick was the funniest of them all.

What I liked best about the Schmidt and Winston story was when Schmidt was bragging to Winston how he was going to do disgusting things to his sister and had no idea that Winston's mother was standing in the room.  But points to Schmidt for still being Schmidt and not letting it deter him in the least and hugging Mama Winston right there.  I loved her reaction to that.

[Winston's mother] You gonna take care of this?

[Winston] He's dead to me.

Thankfully, because I think it's creepy for Schmidt to go after Winston's sister, nothing really came out of his advances (so far, I guess).  As far as Jess' story went, all of her lies came crashing down when all of the guys interested in her came together in one bathroom (and you can kinda include Nick in that category as well).  I didn't mind her pretending for the sake of getting some, but what was annoying was that Nick thought that Jess was interested in Bearclaw.  Ugh!  Seriously, Nick??  But it was funny that Nick was so into Bearclaw, in a way, that he was trying to comfort the guy after he found Jess making out with another guy in a bathroom stall.  Nick is such a mess that it distracted me from the mess that Jess was currently in.  However, it was nice that the guy she pretended to meet online was still interested in at least sleeping with her.  A win is a win.  And with her being jobless at the moment, that's better than nothing.

Oh, but I did love at the beginning where Jess showed them a portrait she had done of the guys.  That was creepy in a humorous way, mostly because they guys looked so friendly and happy to be with each other in the picture.  I couldn't even imagine those guys posing for a picture like that unless they were all drunk or high.  It's too bad they all hated it because I think it adds to their apartment, which doesn't have that much style to begin with.

The best thing about the Nick story was simply that the old man was able to convince Nick (as stupid as he is in the first place) that he was really himself from the future.  I mean, what kind of person does that?  Who has the time to stalk someone and then claim to be an older version of them?  Obviously, since the man ran outside to a cardboard-made time machine, he was out of his mind, but the man had a clear understanding of Nick beyond what any stranger should have been able to have.  Then again, maybe it just suggests that Nick's personality is pretty close to one of a mentally disturbed homeless man.  If anything, I think it should make Nick take a hard look at himself and think about ways for improvement again.

I think it was also funny that even I was starting to believe that the guy was Nick from the future (even though it's not that kind of scifi show) when he was able to argue such compelling evidence:

[Future Nick] Well, I know you didn't shower this morning.
[Nick] Good guess--it's a Wednesday.

Then it was strange that Nick found felt like he could see why he wasn't the best conversationalist:

[Future Nick] Hey, tell her you’re sorry.
[Nick] What for?
[Future Nick] You’ll find out.
[Nick] I mean, I’m sure I did something stupid,but what did I do?
[Future Nick] You just tell her you’re sorry.
[Nick] What did I do?
[Future Nick] You did something stupid.  So tell her you’re sorry.
[Nick] Now I know why people get annoyed with me.  It’s hard to talk to us.

I'm almost a little disappointed that he didn't turn out to be Future Nick, but he was nonetheless wise in the case of dealing with Jess.  He might have been crazy, but I think his brand of crazy responded well to Nick's and that's why he was able to give him advice.  I wonder if he'll ever show up again?  I liked that he played with Nick's mind a little bit.

I liked this episode, but I'm about ready for Jess to get herself a new job already.  Realistically, it shouldn't happen with the snap of the fingers, but this is television, so I can expect things to move a little quicker than real life.  I'd love to see more things where Nick is being fooled by obvious lies like a future version of himself coming to see him.  It reinforces that sort of innocent side that Nick has despite his pretty cynical view of the world.  What I wouldn't like to see is Schmidt get anywhere with Winston's sister.  It was hard enough to stomach him doing Cece--I'd prefer his conquests to be more random girls I couldn't possibly care about one way or the other.

Cartman Needs To Quit The Matchmaking Business

South Park, S16E07

A new girl named Nichole came to their school, and Cartman was determined to hook her up with Token, since they were both black.  He went through a lot of trouble to make that happen, including telling Nichole that Kyle (her initial crush) was his boyfriend and locking Token and Nichole in the boys' locker room together.  After wondering if they were just together because they were the only two black kids at school and worried about people looking at them as if it was a given they were together, they split up.  Kyle tried to date Nichole after that (despite all the rumors that he was dating Cartman in secret), but Cartman ruined their date with a big confession to Kyle over the megatron.  In the end, Nichole and Token decided to get back together simply because they liked each other and nothing else mattered.

I guess if you consider the kind of person that Cartman is, his actions in this story could be considered sweet.  If only he wasn't focusing matches on race, you might think that Cartman had a shred of decency in him.  Besides him forcing the hand of fate with people's love lives based on color of skin, he took away Kyle's chance to ever get together with Nichole.  He wouldn't even consider the idea that they might be a better couple because he was too concerned with skin color.  Felt bad for Kyle because he was getting excited about have some female attention, but all of that was due to Cartman lying about them being Kyle's boyfriend.

What I find really funny about Cartman spreading that lie is the ease in which he declared his love and ownership of Kyle.  He wasn't just convincing enough for Nichole who didn't know him any better than any other boy at school, but he convinced me.  Cartman is pretty obsessed with Kyle in general, even if it is always in a negative way.  Maybe the reason why he is always giving Kyle a hard time and trying to make him look like a fool is because he has a secret crush on Kyle.  I'm just saying--Cartman may be a psycho and a pathological liar, but he's not that good of an actor.  Also, the rest of his schoolmates must have thought Kyle and Cartman have some kind of chemistry because there seemed to be few who didn't believe it (Token even thought Kyle was trying to hit on him).

Regarding Cartman's imaginary friend, Cupid Cartman, it only shows that Cartman is never playing with a full deck of cards.  He wasn't just talking and playing with it, but he imagined it taking a dump in the toilet and thought he had its dead body in a shoe box in his closet.  I liked when he beat the crap out of it when he lost his faith in love after Token and Nichole broke up.  He really commits to his delusions, I'll give him that.  However, the best thing that Cupid Cartman did was suggest that the poster girl for halitosis was his perfect match.  I thought Kyle would be the one to give Cartman a little payback for all of his meddling, but once again, Cartman is his own worst enemy.  I thought it was an appropriate ending to a good episode.

I don't have any complaints really for this episode.  It was nice to see a story about how even dating within your own race could make people judge you on terms of race.  It was mostly a Cartman-centered episode, but that was a good thing because he needed to be alone in his insanity so that it could fester to a comedic point.  Even if he was doing things for his own twisted reasons, I'm fairly sure that he has some unresolved feelings for Kyle that he isn't being honest about.  Not sure that Kyle is on board for that, but it's still pretty funny to think about it.

Spring Break Is Anywhere There Are Portable Saunas And Bacon

2 Broke Girls, S01E19

This week Caroline and Max went on "spring vacation" after Caroline was asked to dog sit for two of her friends.  They not only manage to have a great time, but they also find a blogger who writes about their cupcake business, thanks to Caroline.  Sophie is also seen many times hooking up with Oleg again.  I'm not sure if that's not a big grosser than Caroline having to purge a dog's anal gland.

I loved how Max was so excited about the portable saunas.  It reminded me a little of how much she adored Caroline's bathtub in her old house.  I almost thought she might just spend the entire time sitting in there until she was nothing but a raisin.  I have never seen one of those things myself, and I thought they looked a little ridiculous.  But I guess when you don't have the option of going to a real sauna or a spa, that sort of thing must be priceless (if you enjoy that sort of thing).

Max was also a cute combination with Barbara Streisand at the party while she pretended to be the type of girl who carried her dog everywhere.  Since Max seems to have a soft spot for animals, I could see her future self having a designer bag or something of the like where she kept her dog on her person at all times.  And she would definitely be able to pull off the right attitude to prevent anyone, like Zeke from the party, from making her follow the rules about animals not being allowed.  I guess Zeke must have thought she was pretty cute (or the dog too) to make Max leave the party.  I was hoping maybe the two would get close, but I can't see him being more than a "spring fling."

I'm glad that Caroline didn't ruin their chances to have a well-known food blogger write about one of their cupcakes.  I was worried that with their pretty standard cupcakes that they wouldn't be able to impress the lady, but I was pleased to see that Max thought outside of the box and incorporated elements of food and drink she had been exposed to during their mini-vacation.  A beer-batter bacon cupcake?  I don't like bacon that much, but I might try that.  Hopefully, the free publicity will pay off and their website will get more business.  If they get too much, though, I don't know how they will be able to manage baking in between working at the diner (but I guess they ultimately want that much business so they could quit their job).

I don't know what Sophie is thinking constantly having sex with Oleg.  At least he isn't walking around their apartment building or diner like he is some kind of god.  Sophie sure looks a little embarrassed, but she just goes right back to him.  I usually wouldn't judge, but she's basically dating him now and should just make it official.  What's the point of "sneaking" around if everyone already knows your business?  Just go ahead and take that final leap, Sophie.  Woman up.

Things have been going pretty well for their cupcake business, but I foresee some kind of road bump soon.  It can't go too well or it wouldn't make good TV (although, I feel for the two girls and I would personally be happy to see them get their dreams with little trouble).  At some point along the road of their success, I would like to see Max get seriously involved with someone.  It would be great if it was someone who could sweep her off her feet and give her the kind of relationship that she's never had before.  Caroline can be an airhead sometimes, so I'd not like to see her get distracted by a man again (look how she did with that random Greek guy).  Let's find Max some love!  She deserves it.

Archer In Space? I'd Stab Myself First

Archer, S03E12

The ISA commissions the ISIS team to help them take out a traitor faction on the space station Horizon.  This was the first part of the season finale, which we can expect to see in a couple of days.  As there have been a lot of episodes where the action was an afterthought, I was a little happy to see them rush off to space, as much as I thought it was ridiculous that they would be able to go after only three days of preparation.

Seriously, I would cut off my right leg before I went into space with the ISIS crew.  Archer is their best operative, and he is more likely to leave you for dead than help you if you were in trouble.  I can't imagine trusting him in space where caution is key (mess up there and you'll be stuck in space til you die).  I thought it couldn't get any more outrageous that they were going into space with Mallory (she can handle a gun, sure, but how is it that she can tolerate a space ride so well?) until Pam and Carol showed up!  Are you kidding me??  How could they survive that ride stuck in a tiny box (I say tiny because Pam is so big)?  And more than that, what the hell kind of business would they have there?  No way they are that stupid that they just have to tag along every damn where that the operatives go.

This question was quickly cleared up after Ray expertly guesses that Pam is screwing Archer.  Archer really needs to get his dick under control.  Do you really need a lay when you're that far from the earth??  Then again, the likelihood that he would be killed up there was high (especially with him shooting off the space gun at random as if a broken window wouldn't murder them all), so perhaps he was thinking of getting one more "taste of heaven" before he faced such a deadly mission.  Either way, it is so messed up.  I sort of feel bad for Pam, but she doesn't seem to mind that much being treated like a piece of meat since she did have sex with him before he came to save the day.

When Pam and Carol did show up, I was worried about what the commander was thinking of doing with the women because he wouldn't let Pam join the attack party.  I thought it was my imagination until they reached the people they were trying to save who turned out to be the traitor faction all along (not that surprising with how suspicious the commander was acting).  They intend to populate Mars with the women from ISIS (I hope that Mallory is excluded because she is beyond menopausal)??  Gross!  Also, won't that take forever?  There's also a great chance of inner-breeding with so few females around...  I can imagine why they would want to do that before they have made Mars liveable for people.  Also, a pregnancy in space?  Man, that sounds like it would be a horror story. 

I'm interested to see what the commander and the others are thinking.  I'm not really sure how the ISIS crew will be able to escape when none of them are qualified to operate a space shuttle to get back home without the help of one of their captors.  And what will they do with the men?  Just hope that Archer and the others will join them?  Can't see Archer doing that unless they offered him something really good.  Last week's episode promises a good finale this Thursday.

Ron Swanson Gets Some...And Some Steak Too

Parks and Recreation, S04E18

Leslie had an awful interview with an obnoxious show host who trashed Pawnee, and Andy celebrated his passing grade from his first college course with steak.  Also, Donna was fascinated with Jerry's super focus with stuffing the envelopes with campaign flyers (but I won''t get into that).  I liked the Leslie story better than previous ones, but it still wasn't as good as the one that involved Andy.  You can't top a story that has Ron Swanson at the heart of it.

This week, Ron was doing one of the things he does best--eat meat.  Not only does he eat like 3 steaks, but Andy's professor is charmed by him, despite that Chris joins their little celebration and seems to be having a connection with the woman.  There were quite a few good lines at the table.  One was when April spots Chris at the restaurant by himself:

[April] Is that Chris?
[Andy] It really looks like him.  But there's no way to know for sure.  We should ask him tomorrow.

Another was when Ron probably had the conversation that made the professor fall for him:

My life has been shaped by powerful women.  My father once told my mother that woman was made from the rib of Adam, and my mom broke his jaw.

 I felt bad for Chris when the professor shot him down for a few seconds before she went after Ron.  There was no time to think about his feelings when Ron so casually and easily accepted her invitation to hookup.  However, after Ron comes in the next day so happy that he is making jokes like "Donuts.  Go nuts," and Chris says that he is going to try to win over the professor, my heart went out to Chris again.  It was cute and unexpected that Andy convinced Ron to be upfront with Chris with the same words Ron had lectured Andy with earlier.  The disappointment that Chris expressed was overshadowed by the hilarious hug Ron had to endure for being honest.

The only thing I really wanted to mention about the Leslie story was how it was nice that Ann and Tom were getting along.  Even though they seemed to be breaking up more than they were staying together, it was cute that Tom was keeping track of the time they were officially a couple.  Tom ruined it at the end with the 48-hour anniversary gift of 48 condoms.  Damnit, Tom.

It's also sweet that people of Pawnee love Leslie so much.  Or either they hate Buddy Wood enough to purposely throw his bag away.  Either way, things worked out nicely for her.  Maybe she won't win the race, but she surely can't say that her relationship with Pawnee is a one-way street.

I wonder if Professor Linda was a one-time character or if she will stay on to be Ron's girlfriend for a while.  Hopefully that won't be painfully for Chris to see, and he'll find someone else.  He's too convincing as a lonely person, so it is kind of breaking my heart to see him like that.  It's funny, for sure, but it also so sad.  I'd also like to see a good Ben and Leslie story next time like the bowling one.  As much as Ron cracks me up, I'm starting to miss my dose of Leslie-brand laughter too.

Max Misses Grant... Aww!

Happy Endings, S02E17

After the "cliffhanger" in the previous episode, Happy Endings starts off this one with the continuation of Dave and Alex's hookup.  Um, I would have been fine if they just brushed that off.  Instead, Dave and Brad try hard to prove that the night actually happened, unlike Alex and Jane claim it didn't.  I would have disliked this story more if Jane wasn't so ridiculously meticulous in covering it up.  The other story, about Max and Penny competing in Rosalita's Run, was also pretty good due to Max finding ways to see Grant in everything they did.

No surprise that Jane was the mastermind behind the coverup since Alex is the kind of girl who thinks the TV and computer are friends.  My favorite part in this story was when Brad and Dave keep saying "A-ha!" to disprove all the details Jane made up.  Jane was prepared with all the evidence needed to support the story, including a popcorn husk in Brad's teeth (eww!).  I loved when Jane seemed to teleport across the room to another chair, while holding a cat.  Not only did she freak them out, but she looked like a villain.

Regarding the Rosalita's Run story, I think Max is so cute in the way that he turned anything back into a memory of Grant.  One of my favorites was when they got the clue for Risky Business, and Max said it reminded him of Grant because he owned a business and rode a bike to his business, which was very risky.  I actually didn't think they would show much of how Grant's disappearance affected him.  I'm glad they did because you really get to see a sweet side of Max.  I also like how Max said he couldn't even enjoy bacon, which Penny told him he would have to snap out of it because bacon would come up a lot with him.   This leads to a funny line as Max is pushing Penny in the shopping cart for the win:

Bacon!  I should have eaten more bacon!

I guess it's the bacon that makes Max go.  I was amazed he went as fast as he did.  Someone as lazy as Max doesn't look like the type that would fast, unless it had to do with food.

Max was pretty cute, too, when he asked the cashier to beep his card again because he liked the sound.  He laughed like a delighted child and then went right back to the sad face.  Aww.  But I'm sure that their winnning the Rosalita's Run will get Max back to normal and possibly into some entertaining scheme.

Thankfully, this episode didn't signify the restart of Dave and Alex together.  I think they make a boring couple anyway.  That, even with Max being so adorably forlorn, was probably the best thing about this episode of all.  They could have spared us the story of whether they would stay friends or not, but I'll not nitpick since it was done in a way funnier than I would have predicted.  I'm ready to stop focusing on that wreck of a relationship and get back to the "Crazy Max and His Ideas" show.

Who Cares About Caroline's Birthday?

2 Broke Girls, S01E18

Mainly because this was a Caroline-centered episode, I didn't particularly like it.  It was her birthday, and she hooked up with a pretty fine web designer.  Just like the party that Max planned with pretty much only balloons as decorations, there were some things lacking this week.

What comes to mind is that there wasn't enough Sophie.  Her best moment was when she was eating a cupcake and ogling Caroline and the hottie making out.  We've also come to expect her to reject Oleg for a good minute or two, and this time she barely had a few seconds to send him an insult.  Dang.  And there was no interaction between she and Earl this time.  Double-dang!  The fact that she hooked up with Oleg was almost gross except that Oleg thankfully didn't go around bragging about it in the nastiest way possible.  Dodged a bullet there.  I wonder if that will be the end of their fooling around or will it progress beyond just "hand stuff."

It was also pretty predictable that the reason Caroline didn't want to celebrate her birthday was because she wouldn't be able to spend it with her dad.  When isn't it about her dad??  Like, there needs to be a limit to how much of a daddy's girl she is.  It's getting a little annoying.  We did get to see a glimpse of him, but I wasn't straining my eyes (or going back a few seconds) to see what he really looked like.  It's not really that important to the story.

If I have to be truthful, besides the extremely ghetto lady with the dreads, my favorite thing about Monday's story was the Capri Suns.  I love these and when Max said that she was going to have them at the party, I totally thought she was joking.  But they were all drinking them!  And Oleg's call for all the party members to "raise their capri to the sun" was excellent.  Seriously, back in the day I used to drink those things like water and inhale them as quickly as air.  This episode didn't have much to offer, but I respect a good shout-out to my favorite portable drink.

I wonder what kind of business they will get after that website is up and running.  I'm hoping that whatever mishap it will bring will be up to my standards.  A reference to Capri Suns can only get you so far.
